Types of exercise mats
Before making a selection, you must decide what will be the main purpose of a mat.
When it comes to the division, we differentiate two main types:

How to choose an exercise mat?
Choosing a mat, one must focus on selecting relevant size. Above all, a mat should be selected with its target purpose in mind.
A standard, shorter mat is enough for a post-workout stretching or abs exercises.
Longer mats are better for longer yoga or fitness sessions.
In the next step, it is worth paying attention to its thickness. It is incredibly important because thicker mats are more resistant to damage which is reflected in longer life of the product. Mats thicker than 0,7 cm are more than enough. You will enjoy using them much longer. During the selection, we must also check a material of which it is made. The upper part of a mat should be made of slippery surface because it will make it easier for you to take care of its cleanliness. When it comes to the lower part, non-slip exercise mats are the best. There is nothing worse than a mat moving in all directions during exercise 😉
The last item are special holes for hangers which will help us take care of order at the gym. They are rather unnecessary in a domestic environment; however, they are incredibly important at larger gyms and in fitness rooms.
Where to buy an exercise mat?
The majority of them can be found in shops or wholesale sports equipment stores.
In the market there are lots of accessories to choose from, however, remember to select the ones manufactured by more well-known and respected producers. Mat exercises will always remain an indispensable element of each workout regardless of whether you are a fan of strength training, functional training, yoga or pilates.
